It uses a fox as an image because I have always respected how the fox can adapt to its surroundings. This is a key trait for successful marketing and business plans which need to adapt to changing business conditions.

Surfaces in Las Vegas - 2 to 4 February 2010

We have not attended this Trade Show and Exhibition since 2005, and we are excited to attend the 2010 version of the Event.

We are particularly attending to review how flooring and interior surface manufacturers are tackling the demands of Sustainability and keeping up with the ever changing need for products to meet the latest LEED and BREEM criteria. We are helping clients navigate through the demands of providing products that contribute to making the built environment more sustainable.

BPA is also representing a new engineered hardwood flooring manufacturer who is manufacturing a superior, classic product in Red Laurel. The product has full FSC chain of custody certification, and contributes to LEED criteria. We are seeking distributors for USA and Canada.

Please send Nicholas Fincham an email to if you want to distribute this product in your local area..In addition, contact us for a copy of our analysis of the show including latest trends or ask us about conducting specific research for your organization.

Products and Sustainable Design

Over the last few years the "green" revolution and the need to source new products that reduce or help reduce our carbon footprint are ever increasing to the point where marketers have now "greenwashed" their product ranges...In September I visited IIDEX/Neocon Canada, and today, I walked and visited Construct Canada and was impressed with the responsibility and the forward thinking of companies looking to reduce the pressure on our society and they should be commended.

However, as I was leaving, and having read some of the literature, I wondered, how Architects, Designers, Building Owners and Contractors are able to assess the relative merits of all the products...

BPA can provide objective assessments, and provide guidance for Clients as well as develop criteria when specifing a product for any type of project. We review the latest USGBC, CanGBC, LEED, Greenguard, requirements and other acreditation programs, and keep abreast of changing government regulations and programmes.

We will be attending Surfaces, the largest flooring trade show and exhibition in North America to see the sustainable trends in flooring, as well as hoping to meet potential clients..

Please send Nicholas an email or call him to get started..

Defining a product or services Unique Selling Proposition

Smart companies will use both primary and secondary market research to help define a product or services USP. Use the results, and set up workshops with your management to review results and compare internal views with external perceptions, and hone your USP to target it to your customers wants/needs and desires.

By defining the USP, companies can target marketing and communications messages and give focus to marketing campaigns to generate sales leads and potential revenue opportunities..

Understanding your "Route to Market"

To be truly successful a profitable companies need to address and review the most appropriate route to market for their products and services.

Dependant on the intensity of the market and the numbers of intermediaries the market can support will help determine whether one can afford to have wholesalers, distributors and dealers.

In the modern e-world, if a Company can reach its clients and customers directly then the Company can retain more margin and profit...
